Rotary adopted a modernised logo six years ago, and is encouraging all clubs to make sure their badges, banners, and advertising uses the correct image to ensure consistency of the "Rotary Brand" around the world.

Here's more information about the Image from PDG Gina Growden, and what our club is doing to conform to the design.

Our new banner displays the correct use of the Rotary logo.

However, there is some controversy about our name badges, since they contain the original Rotary pin which has the words Rotary International inside a blue border.
Our Rotary pins as shown in this photo of pins that are still available for purchase from Rotary Down Under are still acceptable.
We have been advised by the supplier of our badges that new badges with the new logo would cost about $20 per person, and that our current badges are still compliant with the new rules, since the rules only apply to 'printed material' and our badges are engraved with the actual rotary pin, rather than printed.

The Board will be considering an update to the badges, either for all members or only for new members at a future meeting.  In the meantime, if you have any suggestions, please send them to David at:  secretary@rotarygreatersydney.org for consideration by the Board.

There is also some controversy about our club bannerette, which was designed for the club when it chartered eight years ago.

As you can see, this has the old Rotary Logo, and doesn't include the word "Rotary" to the left of the wheel.
We thought that we had exhausted our supply of these banners, which are often exchanged with other clubs when visiting them.
Howerver, at our Annual General Meeting, we were pleasantly surprised to discover a small cache of banners in a box.  These have been distributed to members who attended the meeting, and the Secretary has a few left if anyone wants a souvenir or is visiting another club.

Your Board is now considering what to do to replace the banners.  Based on member feedback, there are three options being considered:
1.  Create a new banner similar to the existing one but with the proper logo, to be produced at a cost of about $5 each and sold at cost to members.  This would require a minimum commitment to purchase a total of at least 50 banners.

2.  Share our existing pull-up banner design with members which they could either print on A4 paper personally if they have a colour printer, or send to a print shop, to take to clubs that are still have a banner exchange tradition.

3.  Use our existing pull-up banner design as a photo image that members could display on their phone or tablet device when visiting another club for a banner 'exchange'.  Since we are an e-club, we would then ask the member to take a photo of the other club's banner, and send it to us for display on our website.
