Port Harcourt Nigeria - School Water Project Completed

From Immediate Past President Oscar --

With joy in my heart, I share with you the good news that our Global Grant project with the Rotary Club of Port Harcourt GRA District 9685, have been completed and commissioned by the Club with Rotary international Director and Vice President Yinka Babalola being the Special guest of honor at the commissioning ceremony. With a total Grant sum of USD 53,000, our club as international partner provided water and sanitary facilities for two schools in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.
From the photos shared with us, we can easily see the joy and happiness that this project has brought to the staff and pupils of these two schools. By this project, we have been able to provide clean water system to the school, provide portable and modern sanitary system and helped in reducing and possibly preventing the spread of diseases like diarrhea, cholera, dysentery, typhoid etc  which are among the most killers diseases in developing countries. For the two thousand or more beneficiaries from this WASH project, they also got training on how to wash their hands, stay disease free and make good use of the facilities that they now have.

i believe with this water and sanitation project, we as Rotarians have been able to contribute towards a disease -free world and also reduced the population of the world that lack access to clean water and modern toilet facility. we have indeed inspired their world.

The Grant will be closed in the coming weeks after the club in Port Harcourt have sent a report to The Foundation and all necessary boxes are ticked.
